Our Mission

Tenderness Skincare has been established by Candice Atterton, in response to the need for an affordable, natural, nourishing and kind to skin product range. Designed specifically with black skin in mind, but suitable for all skin types and perfect for a dose of self care.

With a background in youth justice, children and young people’s public health and improving outcomes for children who face racial inequality, Candice recognises the tender response needed to help children, especially those who have experienced exclusion, trauma, discrimination and racism.

The mission is to make and sell body butters and other skincare products and use profits partnerships and customer campaigns to get suitable products into the hands of those that face barriers to suitable and necessary skincare.

Tenderness also aims to educate and raise awareness about the specific skincare needs of Black children and young people through workshops and training sessions and campaigns.

Tenderness is therefore particularly keen to partner with organisations and individuals that understand the importance of children and young people having access to products for their specific skin needs and having their identities strengthened and celebrated.
